Keith Silvester has been the Technical Manager of ALLMI, the UK Trade Association for lorry mounted loader cranes, for 10 years. He is responsible for providing technical, legislative and compliance advice to ALLMI members and the wider lifting industry.

He chairs several working groups within the lorry loader industry and participates in British, European and International Standards work regarding cranes and lifting, both in terms of design and safe use. He was recently the Convenor for the revision of BS 7121-2-4:2025: Inspection, maintenance and thorough examination – Loader Cranes, which provides guidance to industry on how to comply with the thorough examination requirements within LOLER.
 
Keith will be presenting on the subject of lorry loader design, regulation and Standards. This will encompass: an explanation of his involvement in crane design standards and how they have evolved over time (particularly in relation to safety system developments); examples from the industry of how change was achieved; and information regarding lorry loader thorough examination requirements.

This will be a hybrid event. The in-person event will be held at SOE HQ with refreshments provided from 5:30pm.
